About Balaban Basketball

Stefan Balaban played 4 years of high school basketball at Maine West High School. As a freshman, he started on the sophomore team before becoming a regular starter on the varsity team from sophomore through senior year. He placed 7th in the state at the IHSA Three-Point Contest. He played for Mac Irvin Fire as a junior and was able to compete in major AAU tournaments across the country in front of Rajon Rondo, Rick Pitino, Aaron and Andrew Harrison, and many more. 

After high school, coach Balaban went to DePaul University and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Accountancy. Upon starting classes at DePaul, coach Balaban also began his basketball coaching and training career. Over the course of the last decade, Coach Balaban has trained and held camps for thousands of players in the Chicagoland area. He has also coached at the following programs: Elk Grove High School (sophomore head coach), St. Viator High School (sophomore head coach), Hoffman Estates High School (sophomore head coach), Elmhurst University (GA before leaving midseason), All In Athletics, Glenbrook South Feeder, HiFive, Jr. NBA, Queen of All Saints Middle School.
